Convenient wired remote reading of consumption
data with the M-Bus central unit EMS-MBUS-CE1

The M-Bus central unit EMS-MBUS-CE1 enables the heating, water, and other consumption of all residents to be recorded and read from a central building control unit.
The M-Bus system installed in the apartment building transmits data from the heating and water meters, as well as other types of meters in the apartments, to the EMSMBUS- CE1 central unit upon request.
Residents benefit from the following advantages:
- Residents’ privacy is protected
- Scheduling stress and wasted vacation days are avoided
- Fair billing through precise and error-free data transmission via M-Bus
- Precise transmission technology
With the EMS-MBUS-CE1 M-Bus central unit, meter reading errors are a thing of the past. Meter readings are automatically recorded and processed electronically. By storing readings for specific dates, month-end values, and a current reading, accurate billing is possible.
This ensures greater fairness and transparency, especially during tenant changes and the associated move-ins and move-outs.
This gives residents the assurance that they only pay for what they actually use.
Furthermore, the M-Bus system allows for remote diagnostics of the meters from the building management system in case of implausible data. This allows the source of the error to be quickly identified and problems to be resolved.
And of course, all meter readings can also be viewed and read directly on the meters in the apartments.

The advantages of the EMS-MBUS-CE1 M-Bus central unit at a glance:
- Connection of up to 250 consumption metering devices possible
- Records energy consumption data without disruption and without physical access to living spaces
- Uses standard electrical components
- Easy installation
- Reverse polarity protected M-Bus cable – protects the system from damage and ensures secure and stable connections
- The M-Bus system offers flexible cabling options and various cable topologies (star, tree, and linear structures) to adapt to different architectural configurations
- Advantages of centralized wired meter reading
- Frequent and rapid meter readings possible (electronic data can be used directly)
- No access problems, as users do not need to be disturbed (no notification required)

The EMS-MBUS-CE1 M-Bus central unit represents the new generation of web-enabled M-Bus central units that are connected to the Internet via GPRS and NB-IoT.
- The web-enabled EMS-MBUS-CE1 central unit can manage and power up to 250 meters connected via bus cables.
- With the EMS-MBUS-CE1 M-Bus central unit, it is possible to read all heat meters, cold meters, water meters, and other meters with an M-Bus interface. Different meter types can be installed and coexist in the same M-Bus network.
- The EMS-MBUS-CE1 M-Bus central unit is designed for connecting up to 250 meters with a total cable length of up to 2 km.
- For installations with up to 50 meters, total cable lengths of up to 3 km are achievable with a single EMS-MBUS-CE1 M-Bus central unit.
- The device does not have a display but is operated via the user-friendly “EMS Device Agenda” software, which enables scanning, reading, and analyzing the network.
- The device indicates ongoing communication on the M-Bus network via corresponding signal LEDs on the circuit board.
- The EMS-MBUS-CE1 M-Bus central unit is housed in an attractive plastic enclosure with a removable cover and meets IP54 protection class standards.
- The EMS-MBUS-CE1 M-Bus central unit can be remotely configured and operated via the integrated web server.
- Secondary addressing and searching via a user list are supported.
- Secondary scanning is available when scanning the M-Bus network with the EMS-MBUS-CE1 M-Bus central unit.
- For secondary addressing, the last eight digits of the meter number are used as the M-Bus ID number.
- The secondary address is similar to the configurable customer number.
- The EMS-MBUS-CE1 M-Bus central unit supports a communication speed of 2400 baud.
- The enhanced functionality and flexible operation of the EMS-MBUS-CE1 M-Bus central unit minimize the need for maintenance and troubleshooting, making it a cost-effective choice for wired remote meter reading via the M-Bus system.
